Scholarship Guidelines

The CommUNITY West Outreach scholarship is designed to provide assistance for the success of a West Yellowstone Student in their continuing education. It is the goal of CWO to encourage the recipient to then give back to their communities by helping others in need, no matter their social, economic or cultural differences. CWO promotes positive contributions and a circle of giving.

The CommUNITY West Outreach Scholarship is based on one or more of the following criteria:

· Academic achievement

· Extracurricular activities

· Personal achievement

· Volunteer/community service and/or leadership roles

· Financial and/or personal need 

Scholarships may be used for:

· Continuing education: Both collegiate and vocational

· Tuition and books

· Other educational expenses reviewed on an individual basis

CommUNITY West Outreach requires the applicant to complete the application in its entirety and submit by April 2, 2027 at the school or by mail or email to CommUNITY West Outreach. This form provides personal data about the applicant that will be reviewed by CWO’s Board of Directors for scholarship consideration.

· References

An applicant must provide two reference letters. Appropriate references would include, but are not limited to: Employers, counselors, teachers & community members. Contact information must be provided for all references.

1. Personal Statement: In 250 – 500 words, state what your personal, educational and/or vocational goals are, and why you feel deserving of the scholarship. Your statement should address your thoughts on education, responsibility and giving back to the community. (This statement should be TYPED and attached to the application).
